About
We warmly welcome you to our new website about the proposal for the Pittlesheugh Farm Battery Energy Storage System.
The proposed Pittlesheugh Farm Battery Energy Storage System is a battery energy storage system (BESS) located on an area of farmland to the south of the A697 and 1.4km north of Eccles and 8.5km west of Coldstream.
The Battery Energy Storage System project will consist of circa 100 energy storage containers with a total storage capacity of over 300 Megawatts and will be connected by an underground cable to the nearby Eccles Substation.
The proposal also includes electrical control buildings, transformers and switchgear within the site.
The Developer is local landowner Will Ramsay, whose family lives at Pittlesheugh Farm. Will Ramsay is involved in the local community, sitting on the Committee of the Berwickshire Civic Society, as Chair of Berwickshire Races, as Chair of local charity Admiral Ramsay Museum, and as a Trustee of Paxton House Trust. Previously, he initiated and chaired a charitable community pub committee, to save The Plough, Leitholm.
